Counterfeit detergent investigated - Monday, November 22, 2010
Applying for a search warrant for a Seattle-Tacoma residence, an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent asserted several Seattle-area men are suspected of importing thousands of boxes of counterfeit laundry detergent being sold as Tide or Ariel brand products, Seattlepi.com reported Sunday.

Customs and Border Protection seizes counterfeit laundry detergent - Sunday, September 26, 2010
U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers seized 1,473 cartons of counterfeit laundry detergent at the Seattle seaport last week. The cartons contained 5,000 boxes of detergent that closely resembled Tide, and 3,600 bags of detergent which closely resembled the brand name Ariel.

NZ customs service collaborates wth Procter and Gamble to combat counterfeits - Monday, April 27, 2009

On April 20, the New Zealand Customs Service and Procter & Gamble (P&G) signed a confidentiality agreement to confirm their partnership to enhance N.Z. Customs’ ability to detect counterfeit consumer products that are attempted to be smuggled into the country. Under the agreement, customs officers will be trained to differentiate genuine from counterfeit products by using a range of test kits put together by P&G.

UNECE experts promoting new ways to combat counterfeit goods - Thursday, January 25, 2007
In Ukraine, Procter and Gamble and the Ukrainian market surveillance authorities managed to detect and destroy a lucrative illegal market in “Procter and Gamble” products. Through a survey conducted in 1999, the company found that a staggering 43 per cent of the hair-care products and 23 per cent of the laundry products marketed under its name were counterfeit.
